What you get

Two authoritative Environment Canada datasets, normalized and queryable via a single API.

CO2

Facility GHG emissions

GHGRP data for every large industrial emitter: total CO2e per year plus full gas breakdown — CO2, CH4, N2O, HFCs, PFCs, SF6. Filter by province, naics_code, and value.

NPR

Pollutant releases

NPRI substance-level releases to air, water, and land. Bilingual substance names — substance_en and substance_fr. Over 300 substances tracked since 1993.

Cross-dataset facility profiles

Every NPRI facility links to its GHGRP record via facility_id. The /facility/{id} endpoint returns both emission and release history in one call.

ESG-ready filtering

Filter by NAICS code, province, date range, substance, and value. Aggregate by province or year with the /stats endpoint. Purpose-built for ESG workflows.

Two datasets, one API

GHGRP facility emissions and NPRI substance releases — both normalized, both bilingual.

Powerful, consistent API

Search emissions, profile facilities, trace pollutants. One key, every endpoint.

Built for environmental intelligence

One API powering ESG analysis, compliance research, and environmental journalism.

ESG & sustainability

Benchmark facility emissions against sector peers. Track year-over-year trends. Pull structured CO2e data directly into your ESG reporting pipeline.

Environmental compliance

Monitor regulated facilities by province and NAICS code. Search for specific substances, identify top emitters by region, and audit historical releases.

Research & academia

30+ years of NPRI data and 20 years of GHGRP records. Query by substance group, facility, or sector to support emissions modelling and policy research.

Journalism & accountability

Follow the pollution. Identify which facilities release the most toxic substances in a given province. Cross-reference GHG and NPRI records on a single facility.
